General Questions
What kind of picture do I need?
Almost any type of picture will do. We've worked with very old family pictures of ancestors, as well as modern photographs of people celebrating Golden Wedding anniversaries, and digital snapshots of new born babies. We can use full colour pictures as well as black and white. Damaged photos can be restored in some instances. Original photographs can be submitted, and we also accept images sent in Jpeg, Bitmap, Tiff files, etc. If you need advice, please contact us.
Will my Laserpic come gift boxed?
Yes, all our items come gift boxed.
My picture is very old with a sepia colour. Is this still ok?
That's fine. In fact, some of our customers have commented on how much better the image looks in crystal, with our laser engraving almost bringing the picture "alive".
Will the picture in the Laserpic crystal fade or wear away?
Because the image is laser engraved within the crystal it will never fade or deteriorate, and can last forever if the crystal is looked after. Many people use Laserpic crystals as memorials and leave them outside. There are tips on looking after your crystal under “Learn About”.
How much text can I have?
We only allow text upto 40 letters in a crystal as any more would mean a smaller picture. If this is a problem and you require more text then please contact us.
I don't have the picture on the computer, only a photograph. What can I do?
That's fine. You can post your photograph to us with your payment and order details. Our address is Laserpics, Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre, Beaumont Way, Beaumont Leys, Leicester,LE4 1DS. We’ll return it with your engraved crystal. If the photograph is valuable, you may want to copy it before posting, preferably by registered mail.
If I send a photograph will it be interfered with?
No. The photograph is scanned into our computer and then anything that needs doing is done to the scanned copy.
Can I use pictures from my mobile phone?
Yes. You can either send them to your own computer by bluetooth or email and then upload them when you order. If you are unable to get them onto your computer then you can send us the picture as a picture message. Many photography shops can also print pictures from your mobile phone. If you are unsure then please contact us.
What are the light bases for?
The light bases are an ideal compliment to our Laserpics crystals. By placing the crystal on the light base it enhances the image greatly by sending a stream of light through the crystal. This is especially effective during the evening.
Delivery Information
How long will it take before I receive my Laserpic crystal?
We state 10 working days but endeavour to get all received orders posted within 5 days. This will take longer during peak periods such as Christmas, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day etc. If you are unsure or need your crystal sooner then please contact us.
Does postage apply to every additional item I order?
2.95 is charged for the first item. 4.95 is charged for 2 or more items.
Will my Laserpic crystal come as a standard delivery?
No, we will either send it by Royal Mail recorded delivery or by private courier. Somebody will have to be in to sign for the item. If nobody is home then a card should be left.
